MP appointed to The Privy Council
Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing has said it is a "great honour" to have been appointed a member of the Privy Council.
The Privy Council is a formal body of advisers to the Queen.
As well as MPs and Peers, and former MPs and Peers, the Privy Council also comprises other people with senior roles in public life.
Mrs Laing's appointment means that she will now be addressed as 'The Right Honourable Eleanor Laing MP'.
Her appointment is made official at a ceremony before the Queen.
