Aplicom’s net sales in 2016 increased by more than 20% and the company expanded its business with automotive repair chain service solutions

Deliveries of Aplicom telematics increased by approximately one third compared to the previous year, and net sales increased by 21%. In addition, Aplicom has acquired the Berlin-based company Cardian GmbH, which delivers customer installations and telematics service systems with Aplicom devices.

According to its strategy Aplicom expanded its operations by innovative automotive IoT (Internet of Things) solutions. Aplicom developed and launched an end2end solution for car service chains and car dealers to improve customer communication, remote vehicle maintenance and maintenance bookings. Elisa and Helpten, resellers of Aplicom solutions, together introduced a new service system at the beginning of January 2017 for the car dealer group Autopalin that belongs to the S-Group, which is one of the biggest repair companies in Finland.

While deliveries of Aplicom devices continue to grow in the international market, growth will be strengthened by new service solutions using Aplicom devices. Aplicom operates in the market through system and service provider partners. The new solutions are not competing with Aplicom’s service partners' solutions.
Aplicom partners with Cumulocity for a stronger presence in the IoT-world

By the end of Q1/2017 Aplicom will support Cumulocity’s IoT Platform. Cumulocity has been the globally leading provider of ‘Internet-of-Things’ (IoT) software and solutions since 2010 for key verticals such as retail, industrial Internet, energy and discrete manufacturing. Cumulocity has set new industry standards for IoT and received several innovation awards. The Cumulocity -platform is used by customers like Deutsche Telekom, Telstra, Software AG, GardnerDenver and other global leading companies.

By implementing Cumulocity -compatibility, Aplicom is taking a big leap towards an IoT –hardware provider. Compared to the traditional SaaS business models of Aplicom partners that have an  emphasis on tracking & tracing together with driver and vehicle data, the wider reaching IoT focuses on mass device management with structural emphasis on privacy and security, fault detection, automated resolution management, real-time analytics and performance management and SLA monitoring for operations.

By providing the means to fulfil the high quality requirements of industry applications, including the support of different levels of secured communication by TLS, Aplicom will become a considerable option for several IoT segments with demanding environments.

All presently available Aplicom products with 3G communication will be available with the Cumulocity client alternative.
