South Metro-Salem STEM Partnership
A guided facilitation and professional learning opportunity
to tackle inequities in STEM education
K-8 educators: Engage in relevant, individually determined STEM focused inequities identified at the school or classroom level. We will build skills and mindsets for addressing problems in real time, in the face of ever-changing conditions. You will learn and practice processes to identify problems by listening and empathizing, brainstorm prototypes and test solutions, and iterate based on feedback and data. Online sessions held 2/22, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/5 and 4/19. Stipend included.

Inspiring Girls Expeditions
Inspiring Girls Expeditions is a tuition-free, 12-day wilderness science education program for 16-18-year-old high school girls and gender-expansive youth. Summer expeditions are led by professional women scientists, artists, and wilderness guides. Students who don’t feel like they fit the “typical” image of a scientist or outdoors person are especially encouraged to apply. This program is housed within the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University. Begin an application by Jan 24!

Computer Science and Digital Learning
STEM Hubs in Oregon are actively seeking to learn more about the types of Computer Science and Digital Literacy learning opportunities that exist throughout the state. Parents and Students are invited to take a survey to help determine Computer Science and Digital Literacy needs and opportunities in our coastal region. Our goal is to expand access so that all youth have access to education related to Computer Science and Digital Literacy.
