We have faced tremendous challenges over the past year, but STEM educators and partners throughout Oregon have responded with innovative and creative solutions to keep students engaged and learning.

STEM Week Oregon Launch Event
Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 4PM

STEM Hubs in Oregon are excited to help you get ready for the 7th annual STEM Week Oregon coming up May 8-16. Join the one-hour virtual Launch Event on Jan 26th for:
  1. Information about planning and mini-grants available for STEM Week Oregon 2021 (May 8-16),
  2. Inspiring speakers and interactive breakout sessions to help you design fantastic in-person and virtual STEM Week activities, and
  3. News about STEMOregon’s exciting new partnership with ReMake Learning Days Across America!
Participants who attend the Launch Event and register a STEM Week event by Jan. 26 will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize!

Apply for a Mini Grant!
 
Support your public STEM Week event with a mini grant up to $250. Applications will be accepted until April 15.

OSU Precollege Programs offers FREE virtual STEM@Home webinars with presentations by OSU students, staff, and partners who provide college connections and cover STEM content with activities that families can do from home. Visit their website to see upcoming session topics.

Salmon Bowl 2021

Regional NOSB Event - February 6, 2021
Teams from three coastal schools will participate in this year's regional National Ocean Sciences Bowl competition, aka "Salmon Bowl". In a virtual format for 2021, high school teams from Neah-Kah-Nie, Tillamook, and Nestucca will join competitors from around the state to test their knowledge about the ocean. Good luck to all!

OCAFS Welcomes Students

Annual Conference - March 3-5, 2021
The Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society is actively recruiting high school students to attend their annual conference which will be held virtually this year. Come get a view of real life natural resource conservation and management! Cost: $15

Genes in Space

Proposals accepted until April 12, 2021
The Genes in Space contest is now accepting entries. Students in grades 7-12 are challenged to design a DNA experiment for space. The winning experiment will be conducted on the International Space Station.

Teaching Energy in Ecosystems series

February 2, 4, 9 and 11, 2021
For 5th and 6th grade educators

Join the Oregon Natural Resources Education Program (ONREP) for a free workshop held over four virtual sessions. Participants will dive into Project Learning Tree's "Energy in Ecosystems" E-Unit. Register by Jan 28.  Learn more

Spring in the Watershed

February 12 & 13, 2021
For upper elementary and MS educators

Join ONREP for a free workshop to explore activities, methods, and resources teachers can use to engage students in real-life data collection and analysis in watersheds.  Learn more

Celebration of Women in Engineering

February 10-11, 2021

Oregon State University's College of Engineering is observing International Women and Girls in Science Day with live panels, a film premiere, a live networking session, and more. This completely virtual event is FREE and open to the public.
