A Serendipitous Meeting with Merikay Waldvogel at Quiltcon; My Recent Crochet Project; and Behind The Scenes @ GlassEyesOnLine

Jerry and I recently attended QuiltCon in Savannah, Georgia and had the good fortune to meet with Merikay Waldvogel.  Talk about Serendipity!  We did not know this when we met her.  She is an author of several quilt books, a curator, and Lecturer.  Her specialty is 20th century quilts and she just happened to be visiting the Quilters Alliance booth.  Jerry brought his childhood quilt to the show and she graciously agreed to review and appraise it.

Jerry and I felt so blessed to be able to meet with Merikay.  She graciously shared her knowledge and expertise about quilts with us and helped Jerry reconnect with some of his childhood memories through her review of his quilt.
