Please welcome Jeff Derr, PMA's new Sponsored Research Manager. Jeff comes to us from Harvard University, where he was most recently an Assistant Director of Research Administration and Finance for the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). Prior to that, Jeff has spent the last six plus years working both in SEAS and the Harvard Physics Department.

Jeff lives in Van Nuys with his wife (Alden) and 1 year old son (Teddy). Jeff and Alden previously went to school, lived, and worked in Boston for fifteen years before moving to Los Angeles in the Summer of 2021. They enjoy visiting Alden's family in Altadena (where she grew up), visiting parks with Teddy, and reveling in the fact that outdoor dining is year-round in Southern California.

Please welcome Denise Lu, PMA's new Division Administrative Assistant. Denise was part of the Education team at the LA Arboretum in Arcadia for four years where she led the programming and coordination of adult education classes such as horticulture workshops, art classes, wellness programs and more.

She was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley and enjoys being a foodie in her spare time. She says she is used to hearing interesting plant and gardening facts and now she can't wait to learn about the wonderful and exciting world of the PMA Division.
