Philip Hopkins receives the 2016 Helen B. Warner Prize for his research in galaxy formation and evolution and the growth of massive black holes.

James Bock receives the 2016 Joseph Weber Award for his development of low noise “spider web” bolometers leading to fundamental measurements of the cosmic microwave background.

Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi) is requesting proposals that target research on Physics of the Observer, both in physics and also in related fields including cosmology, astrophysics, philosophy of physics, complex systems, and mathematics.

Groce Travel Funds to support graduate student travel to scientific conferences for educational development are available. If you are interested in taking advantage of this, please send a justification to your Executive Officer in Physics, Mathematics, or Astronomy.

Moore Scholar proposals are now due. The last day to submit a proposal for the Moore scholar program is Friday, January 15th.
