Principal's Report

As our crazy Texas temperatures yo-yo between winter and spring, I know many of you enjoy walking home with your students on those beautiful afternoons. This is a good time to remind ourselves of some of our safety procedures at HLES.

If you are walking up to retrieve your student, instead of using the drive through car pick up, we need you to exit the area, as soon as your student has been checked out by the teacher. Students and their siblings should not be running through the front courtyard or climbing the trees, as this is not an area designed for playing.

All bicycles are to be walked until they are safely off the campus. This allows for quicker reaction time and provides safety for pedestrians.

Dogs are not allowed on the campus at any time, unless they are service dogs. This includes arrival and dismissal times.

Use crosswalks when crossing the street. Cars should never enter a crosswalk until the children and the crossing guards are back safely on the sidewalk.

No cell phones in school zones. This includes all school property.

As always, thank you for helping to put the safety of our students first during arrival and dismissal each day.

Mustang Proud,
Melanie L. Graham

President's Message

Hello Mustangs! Wow! We have had such a great year so far and we are continuing our efforts in making this a wonderful year for our children and staff at HLES. I just wanted to take the time to say "Thank You" for your continued efforts in making HLES such a great campus. If you like to be in "the know" of what all goes on, I highly recommend you join our upcoming PTA General body meeting. This month will be a "Lunch and Learn." Mathnasium is coming to teach us some great tools to help our children with homework. So come join us for a lunch and learn how to make math fun and exciting for your student.
