New Trail will Connect Lincoln and Estabrook Parks

First Work Day: Tuesday, May 15th, 2-5 pm.

Be a Trail Blazer! This is an exciting development. We have gotten clearance to build a "connector" trail between Lincoln and Estabrook Parks.  It will run under three bridges and up to the Hampton Avenue bridge. With the completion of this trail, hikers will be able to walk along the river from Capitol Drive to Silver Spring without crossing any streets! But it can only happen with lots of muscle and sweat. Pitch in!  Work gloves and tools will be provided. Join Friends of Lincoln Park AND Friends of Estabrook Park for our first Work Day: Tuesday, May 15th, 2-5 pm.  Park in the Golf Course parking lot and meet in the clearing across the street by the river.

Spring Weed-out Dates Set

May 26th and June 16th, 9 am to Noon

We love Garlic Mustard! We love to pull it out by the roots, that is.  Wildflowers are making a comeback in the park in many areas where we have been weeding. We are now in our 4th year of weed-outs! Many thanks to our Weed-Out Queen, Anne Stadler Vaillancourt we are really seeing results.  Please join in and show her you care. It would make her and all of us soooo happy. Meet at the Blatz Pavilion, 1301 W Hampton at 9am.  If you join us late, look for a sign with our location.

Get Involved - Join the effort.

Buoyed by our successful effort to save the Lincoln Park Pool (With the help of many groups, including NWSCDC) we are looking forward to planning more events, activities and projects to CELEBRATE LINCOLN PARK.  Our board meets monthly on a Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8 pm.  If you have an idea for an event or project you'd like to champion, please join us at our next meeting June 5th.  Email us at contact@LincolnParkFriends.org for location info.
