Hi Friend,
Volunteers in the Park worked hard during April.  Over 120 volunteers signed up for the Riverkeeper annual cleanup.  Over 4 days, we planted 100 trees in the park.  We hope you'll join us in May for invasive plant control. If you are in the Park, please continue to help with litter control.  It's a community effort.

6th Annual Spring Weedouts In May

Invasive Garlic MustardFriends of Lincoln Park are looking for volunteers to join us for a Spring Weed Out removing invasive Garlic Mustard and Thistle. It is important to do this because invasive weeds crowd out native plants in our natural green spaces. Then wildlife cannot forage for enough food to survive. We need our native plants to flourish to maintain our local ecosystem.

Love Your Parks – They Need You

County Parks now face an existential crisis.  At one time, parks were considered part of the common good and a valued part of what are taxes do.  Love your Parks logoNow, County Parks have difficulty keeping up with such basic tasks as cutting grass and picking up trash.  We are all called to pitch in. Love Your Parks is part of the effort to return the balance between tax cuts and good parks.  On the LoveYourParksMKE.com website, you'll find lots of ideas and ways to be involved. Also, County Parks is asking for our support in reporting issues that need immediate attention.  If you see illegal dumping, a tree fallen across a trail, a safety hazard or even just an overflowing trash basket, report it here on the County Parks Report an Issue web form.
