WILD in Milwaukee:
New Perspectives on Urban Wildlife
With Gary Casper and Julia Robson
THIS TUESDAY March 5th, 6:30 pm
Friends of Lincoln Park, Annual Meeting and Presentation
Lincoln Park Blatz Pavilion, 1300 W Hampton Ave.
Brave the cold and join us in the warmth of friendship and the Blaz Pavilion! Gary Casper and Julia Robson worked for 4 years on a comprehensive study of Milwaukee wild species that produced many surprises. Gary is also working on a soon to be published “Milwaukee River Greenway Habitat Plan” and will touch on this as well. The Greenway Habitat Plan will provide a "vision for an urban wilderness containing restored natural communities and shared recreational opportunities". The plan identifies 58 “Species of Local Conservation Interest”. We've asked Gary and Julia to talk specifically about wildlife in Lincoln Park.
Julia Robson, formerly of Milwaukee County Parks is now Conservation Biologist for Waukesha County Parks. Julia and Alyssa Armbruster completed a walk In 2017, from Milwaukee to Lake Superior, to Sustain our Great Lakes.
Gary Casper is Biologist at the UWM Field Station and owner of Great Lakes Ecological Services LLC. Gary led this first-ever comprehensive wildlife survey in Milwaukee.
March 5th is also our annual meeting. We'll take a few minutes to Celebrate our 2018 accomplishments and share news of 2019 activities. We’ll take 5 minutes to introduce and elect our board for 2019. Click Join Now to start or renew your membership
