We love Garlic Mustard. We love to yank it out by the roots! Volunteers work hard to help control invasive and aggressive plant species that crowd out native plants like this beautiful Trillium. Our LAST Spring Weed-Out date is Saturday May 25th 9am to 12pm. You'll get some fresh air and exercise and do a service to your park. We will be focusing on removing Garlic Mustard by hand along the Milwaukee River. Meet us at the Pavilion at 9 or find us along the Parkway.
We need to care for our watershed and native plants are essential to to sustaining our shorelines. PLEASE come and help! Dress for the weather but wear long pants and sturdy shoes.

The route is appropriate for canoes or kayaks. We plan to put in and take out at the same landing, not shuttling.

July 4th Fireworks - July 5th Cleanup
July 4th is a day we all look forward to, joining our friends and family for a day of picnics and parades, topped off by an evening of fireworks in Lincoln Park. We hope you'll join us in this celebration of our nation's independence. July 5th, on the other hand, is a day dreaded by County Parks staff. They get to spend the day cleaning up the mess. We'll be joining the effort to clean-up as we have in past years. We are hoping to bring out a record number of volunteers to help and honor the work the staff does all year. On July 5th, we'll meet at 9 am at the Blatz Pavilion
