It's been a good while since I sent out a newsletter, and that's an indication of how full and busy life is over here. Unlike what I hear about life slowing down and people having more time on their hands during the pandemic, it's been quite the opposite. My clinical work has kept me hopping, I was one of the top three busiest clinicians last year at the six-county agency I worked for. I have likewise been chipping away at my dissertation, more on that in a minute.
The fun stuff: the Blue Sage Gallery in Paonia is hosting my bite-sized pieces of art for holiday gift giving, and I likewise put some on my Etsy shop.
The terrific news is that I'm back to private practice full time with my new clinic Cedar Circle Counseling, serving Coloradans, those in states which have lifted licensing restrictions during the pandemic, and taking in-state Medicaid.
For the rest of you, I'm happily continuing to offer coaching and breathwork therapy.
I'm delighted to say I'm on the last leg of my PhD journey, where the past year and a half of dissertation proposals have finally been approved and I'm taking the next step - conducting my research. What I could really use is help from all my community and connections coming up with participants suitable for my study.
Sadly, for the purposes of research, I must have unbiased participants, which means anyone who knows me or has worked with me in a healing or therapeutic capacity can't participate. So that leads me to ask you kindly to consider your friends, family, and community who might be willing to engage in a study, or if you can, pass the flier on to any suitable groups you are connected with. Since this study will be conducted via online video, they can be located anywhere, but must be fluent in English. Here's what I'm looking for:
I appreciate your help spreading the word. You should be able to download the flier, but if you have any trouble I'd be happy to email you a PDF to share with your contacts. Thank you so much!
My hope is that we take this time when the world seems to be reshuffling a bit and lean in on the ways you'd like to see your own life unfold differently, and the direction you'd like to see the world go in. My prayer is we can all learn to hold the tension of polarities without participating in divisiveness and hate until peaceable resolution can be found in our common humanity. What interesting times we get to be part of!
I do hope life is going well for you. If you just need more connection, reach out to a friend, and if you need more support, I'm available via video chat and telephone, for counseling and breathwork.
One thing that has changed for me during the pandemic, is that I cook more yummy dishes at home and grow more food, with a truly bountiful garden last summer. What good has come from this collective retreat for you?
Love and blessings,
