U.S. Representative David Schweikert Opposes Prop 205
PHOENIX (Sept. 13) -- U.S. Representative David Schweikert today released a statement in opposition to Proposition 205 which would legalize recreational marijuana in Arizona.
"At the ballot box this November, Arizona voters will make a decision of great significance whether or not to legalize the use of recreational marijuana. Before voters make their decision, I hope they will look to other states that have decriminalized recreational marijuana, and that are now seeing the avalanche of unintended consequences," said U.S. Representative David Schweikert.
"Washington, Colorado and Oregon have seen significant public safety risks since legalizing recreational marijuana. The results continue to show that there are increasing problems with the legalization of recreational marijuana with few solutions in sight. Why would Arizona want to follow in these states' footsteps? Let's do our homework, let's understand the consequences and risks, and let's say no to this devastating proposition. Our children and grandchildren will thank us for voting no on Prop 205."
