Preparations and Improvements for the
Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, 2016
The attention to property details at Fieldstone Show Park in Halifax, Massachusetts—The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament’s permanent home--are ongoing. Despite the spacious number of warm up rings, rings set aside for lessons and schooling and just room to spread out and work our horses in peace; two new all-weather GGT rings have been added. At this point every ring on the property has the same miles of underground drainage pipe, stone, fabric and sand that has led to rave reviews from all our athletes. As Peter Leone told me last season, “I could ride in these rings in any weather, confident and comfortable, it doesn’t get any better anywhere on the circuit.”
Added attention has been paid this Fall to the tent pads, vendor areas, fence lines and the beautiful grass Grand Prix field where more fertilizing, hydro-fracturing and sand injection will continue to insure the best jumping surfaces of our all-weather rings and Grand Prix field. Power has been added to every area of the property ensuring uninterrupted service, and convenience. The vendor areas have seen major improvements in landscaping, drainageand water connections.
We will be publishing the 2016 version of our prize list shortly. Initially itwill posted on www.silveroakjumpertournament.com, and in January printed copies will be made available throughout Wellington and Ocala. Remember Ireland’s Alan Wade will be setting the tests in our Grand Prix field in 2016 with Olaf involved with the Olympics, and Nick Granat, who was with us last year assisting Olaf, will handle the courses in the CMJ all-weather Jumper Annex.
It bears repeating that we sold out in 2015 and expect a sell-out again in 2016--August 17-21, 2016--so please enter early. We turned away more than a hundred entries last year to ensure the integrity of our schedules, jumping surfaces and your comfort. Also, the annual SOJT volleyball tournament was a big hit last year so as you winter in Florida, start thinking about your teams for August, 2016. We will again be hosting a Silver Oak barbeque prior to the tournament, and promise lots of fun and prizes.
We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and continued success in 2016. As always, please feel free to contact us any time.
