Join us in one of our January Bible Studies designed for Women, Men & Small Groups! Starting THIS WEEK we'll follow author Tara-Leigh Cobble as she breaks down the doctrine of the Trinity in the study "He's Where the Joy Is". This will be a pared-down, interactive study that includes videos and discussion time, but no homework. Understanding God's three-in-oneness and each of the Persons of God individually—Father, Son, and Spirit—will lead you to deeper intimacy with God and greater joy in knowing Him!
Ways to join:
Women's Bible Studies on Tuesdays: In-person 9:30am or on Zoom 7pm.
Co-ed Small Group on Zoom Monday nights
Books & materials available for your Small Group gatherings
We believe God wants us to experience life not just as individuals but also in community with one another. One of the best ways to embrace this is through participation in small groups. We want everyone at First Pres to feel welcomed into a small group this season. Options include in-home small groups, men's, women's, young adult, book clubs, hiking groups and more!
If you are interested in joining, leading, or forming a small group, sign up online or in Fellowship Hall during coffee hour. Contact Laurel Juergens for more info at ljuergens@fpctacoma.org or (253) 272-3286
January 16th is the final day to submit suggestions for the elders and deacons that will start to serve in 2024! Please prayerfully consider those God might be calling.
We all yearn to get to know God better and learn how to hear His voice. But how do we start? Join us this month as we explore God promises for us. We’ll hear from Richard & Michael Blackaby’s video & book “Experiencing God” and from Dallas Willard’s book “Hearing God”. Led by Barb Gehrett on Sundays at 9:15am in South Chapel January 8th - 29th.
On Wednesday evenings our students & volunteers eat dinner together between youth groups. We are currently in need of meals starting in January. This is a great opportunity to serve our youth with your family or in a small group. To sign up, click the link below.
Theology 201: The Sacraments of Baptism and Communion
As part of our UP Season, Pastor Eric will be offering a four-week deep dive into an important theological topic. This year’s topic is sacraments. The sacraments of communion and baptism are an essential and foundational aspect of Christian discipleship as well as our life together as a community. But as important as these sacraments are, they are often not well understood. Many mature disciples struggle to understand what is going on when we participate in the sacraments and many parents have a hard time explaining them to their kids. This class will answer some of the common questions about the sacraments as well as help us utilize them to strengthen our faith. This will be a four-week class starting on Sunday, Feb 5th from 9:15-10:15 in South Chapel.
Can You Donate an Old Cellphone?
We frequently have events where we'd like to play background music and are in need of an older iPhone that could be used with our Bluetooth speaker. If you have an iPhone (2016/6s or newer) you're not using that you'd like to donate, please contact the church office.
