Dinners for Eight is an opportunity for the people of First Presbyterian Church – both members and visitors – to build relationships and get to know one another over a meal. We hope that Dinners for Eight will help build a strong community at FPC!
To sign up for Dinners for Eight is to commit to four meals with seven other people, some or all of whom you may not know. On Sunday, Sept. 25th following worship, those who have signed up for Dinners for Eight will gather for a potluck in Fellowship Hall to meet their group for the first time. At that time, you’ll set dates & times to share a meal together four times between September & December (rotating hosts or locations). Groups can choose to eat in their homes, have a potluck at the church, or gather at a restaurant. Sign-ups close on Wednesday the 21st.
Friendship Flash Talks are back by popular demand. New topics include intergenerational bonds, friendship repair, support for grieving friends, and creative ideas. Four Sundays, beginning Sept. 18. 9:15-10:10am in the South Chapel.
Neighborhood Cleanup this Sunday!
Join us immediately after church this Sunday as we partner with the Stadium District Association to clean up our neighborhood. Meet at 11:45 at the Columbia Bank parking lot to check in. Help pick up trash from 12-1. Then, enjoy a free treat from a participating establishment and watch the game with your neighbors. Our last cleanup was a huge success! Come help us continue this awesome neighboring opportunity.
Saturday, October 8 from 3-7pm at Camp McCullough. Join us for hot dogs and brats, root beer garden, pretzels, apple cider and loads of fun activities for the whole family! Hear about the ministries using our Camp McCullough campus and maybe lend your support to camp! $10 per person or $25 per family.
The men of First Pres are invited to an afternoon of getting to know each other while brewing a Winter Ale with Shannon Strozyk! Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 1-4pm at Shannon Strozyk's place in Dupont.
Please RSVP to Shannon at (206) 427-7136
We are matching prayerful adults to our FPC kids and encouraging both to pray for one another for 40 days this fall. We'll provide weekly supporting material for prayer focus. Sign up by Oct. 9 to have your kid be prayed for or sign up to pray for a child.
For IN season, we are encouraging all of you to invite people in the congregation to “fill empty chairs” with you – to meet up for a cup of coffee, come over for dinner, or even go to a concert together. A person (or people) you haven’t hung out with before. Take a selfie and send it to communications@fpctacoma.org for our end-of-season slide show.
