LEAD STORY - My Health Record

In this month's eNews we look at the My Health Record, re-launched by the Health Minister on 4 March.

As part of the Government’s commitment to electronic health, the My Health Record will be trialled in Western Sydney and North Queensland with a new opt-out model allowing 1 million new people in the trial areas to be signed up to the record.

We also look at changes to the electronic payment incentive program (ePIP) as part of the My Health Record re-launch.

SNHN’s eHealth Coordinator, Helen Purdy provides a detailed question and answer (Q&A) overview that includes a look at  the new criteria needed to receive a Digital Health Incentive, how practices can apply for the new incentive and when the changes will come into effect.

In addition, the National eHealth Transition Authority (NEHTA) ‘on demand training’ is explored. The training allows simulation of key GP and patient interactions with the My Health Record including patient registration and uploading shared health summaries.
