May 2016

Dear <<First Name>>,

May is a wonderfully short month this year! Enjoy short breaks away for the long weekends (I am finally going to visit Krakow), but if you are here, I hope we will see you at one of the many activities this month.  I am happy to announce our first monthly General Meeting (GM) on Friday, May 20th at 10am. If you do nothing else with the Club in the month, come to the GM. It's a great opportunity to socialize, network and enjoy our guest speaker. Once a quarter, we will have an evening GM. Our next evening GM is Tuesday, July 26th, please mark your calendar.  Click here to RSVP for May 20th:

Thanks to the following volunteers who stepped up after my request last month: Renee Burke joined the Event Committee, Kynya Jacobus as Newsletter Editor, Linda Sheehan as Website Calendar Editor, Dayna Stern and Karen Castellon as Membership Co-Chairs and Claudia Tessier as Book Club Co-Coordinator. We still have open needs, please see box below. The Club is a volunteer organization, it is as good as what we put into it. I would love to see more of our membership involved - it's an opportunity for you to SHAPE this dynamic and vibrant new group while perhaps fulfilling some of your personal development goals.

On Saturday, May 21st, a group of AWC members are running/walking in the AVON Race (see below to sign up). Even if you can't join us on the day, please take a few minutes and DONATE to the Berlin Cancer Society on the AWC Berlin fundraising page.

This was the Club exactly a year ago at the VFW Memorial Day Ceremony. There were 5 of us (Nicki Herbers missing from photo).  Thanks to all of you, we are now 120-member strong. I see a loving, supportive and empowering community being built, I hope you feel good about that and let us CELEBRATE!

With love,
