Hosted by IVA Middle School's Parent Academy:
How to know Your Child's Where, When, What and Who Online
Thursday, March 10th, 6:30-8:00 pm
Free to PTA 2015-2016 Members
$8 at Door (For 2015-2016 Membership)
This seminar will walk you through setting up your phone and your kids' phones proactively with simple things to create a permission-based environment.
It's not just just about monitoring your kid's web history or their chats (and most of us aren't even doing that).
- It's keeping them away from predators that appear in favorite games, on innocuous spaces such as facebook, instagram and youtube.
- Also showing you how to manage their online footprint until they can manage it themselves.
- Seeing inappropriate content on youtube, vine, xsites etc.
- And using unsafe apps can do everything from send out personal information to a whole community including locations, pictures and texts (that were privately sent).
Bring your phones and your kids' phones (knowing their passcodes) to set up some simple (and more complicated) safeguards.
