April Meeting Notes
Autumn Show.
President Barry Kable announced the winners from the Autumn Show and presented them with their cash winnings (see online Autumn Show Report).
Volunteers at the Autumn Show were rewarded with $50 vouchers. They were Peter Ball, Narelle Aizlewood, and Rob Butler.

Joy Constantino is our Publicity Officer and looks after our website. Joy would like some assistance dealing with FaceBook and Twitter.

New Initiative! Show and Tell Table.
Please bring plants of interest or unusual flowering for discussion.
Also plants that need an I.D.
These will be discussed in the 10minutes before the meeting starts at 7:30pm.

Patron's Day was held sunday 5rd May
at The Olive Branch, with
Patrons Len and Olive Trevor.

Guest Speaker was Rob Murray who shared his enthusiasm for examining bromeliads under his USB microscope.
He achieves x1000 magnification.

A USB microscope is a low-powered digital microscope which connects to a computer, normally via a USB port. They are widely available at low cost for use at home or in commerce. Their cost varies in the range of as little as $18, up to $2,000.
Rob had his connected to his computer and images were projected onto the big screen.

Mealy bugs were easily seen as were a number of unnamed
motile organisms ?ameba.

New Growers Sessions.
19 enthusiasts attended Pam Butler’s home on Saturday May 4.
After a walk around the garden, each was given an offset which was potted. Offsets were kindly donated by Rebekah Trevor of The Olive Branch.
Pam wants participants to suggest topics/activities for future sessions. Contact her by email at: pbutler628@gmail.com.

The next session is on Saturday 8th June, 9am to 11:00am,
at 14 Sunset Grove, Samford Valley.
