 VergeSense secures $60M to help businesses monitor office usage
MetaProp portfolio company VergeSense, a San Francisco, California-based company developing technologies to track physical office usage, announced that it raised $60M in a series C round led by Scale Venture Partners. According to CEO Dan Ryan, the proceeds will be used to help support R&D and growth as VergeSense looks to expand its international customer base. Read More.

Profitable PropTech company Place raises $100M at a $1B valuation as Goldman Sachs leads its first round of funding
Many real estate technology companies are developing technology that is in competition with, or could potentially replace, real estate agents. One startup that aims to help agents succeed and flourish with its technology and “bundled business services,” Place, has raised $100 million in a Series A round at a valuation north of $1 billion. Read More.

Deskimo, the on-demand desk booking app, raises $3M and expands to Jakarta
Singapore-based Deskimo, the on-demand app that lets people find co-working spaces and pay by the minute, announced today it has raised a $3 million seed round. It is also soft-launching in Jakarta, bringing its total markets to three, along with Singapore and Hong Kong. Participants in the round included Y Combinator, Global Founders Capital, Pioneer Fund, Seed X, Starling Ventures and TSVC. Read More.

Real estate marketing software provider Luxury Presence raises $25.9M in a Bessemer-led Series B
Luxury Presence, a startup selling marketing software to real estate brokerages, announced today it has raised $25.9 million for its Series B round. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round alongside fellow existing investors Toba Capital and Switch Ventures. Former Dallas Mavericks basketball player Dirk Nowitzki also participated in the round, along with other angel investors. Read More.

Software giant Altus acquires real estate data firm Reonomy for $200M
Altus paid just under $200 million cash for Reonomy, which had raised about $128 million as of summer 2020 thanks to hefty investments from the likes of SoftBank, Bain Capital Ventures, and Sapphire Ventures. Read More.

Hilti Acquires Fieldwire for $300M in Major Proptech Deal
In the latest example of an established real estate company adding a proptech firm to its platform, global construction and tool-making giant Hilti Group announced Tuesday that it has acquired worksite job management software startup Fieldwire for $300 million. Read More.

Japan homebuilder invests $1bn to tap U.S. telework boom
U.S. subsidiary Crescent Communities has announced a joint venture with New York-based real estate investment trust specialist Pretium to invest $1 billion in 3,000 high-quality homes over three years. Subdivisions of 50 to 200 homes each are planned, with a Sumitomo Forestry subsidiary developing the houses and a Pretium group unit managing them. Read More.
