“Connect with your audience. Every time we have a physical event we chat with our artists and visitors and I make it a personal goal to have at least one sale in person, this way we know we’re putting forward something someone is willing to pay for.”

— Manuela Seve, Co-Founder & CEO of Alpha'a

— Rebecca Lima, Co-Founder & CEO of The Lieu
"As a founder, connect your passion to your business. For me, that meant starting a company that harnesses tech to advocate for people. I couldn’t imagine myself investing in Morty the same way if we were just making widgets or in it solely to make money."

— Nora Apsel, Co-Founder & CEO of Morty
"Support your hires. Listen to them, be transparent with them, challenge them, meet them where they’re at. Be willing to be supported by your team. Running a company is exhausting. Be willing to hand work (and energy) off to others."

— Ariela Safira, Founder & CEO of Real
"Understand you don’t know everything about everything. Hire talented people that can drive you and your company forward. My leadership team is filled with people who I disagree with, who have a variety of world experiences, and who are incredibly talented."

— Nicole Schmidt, Founder & CEO of Source
