HEADLINES
-
ADU's are on an eye opening rise, as seen from a report focused on California's legalization of accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Since 2016, the number of ADUs permitted has increased by 1,421 percent. As of last year, ADUs constituted roughly one in seven homes permitted in California. In cities such as Los Angeles—where home prices are high and the city’s large lots are well suited to host ADUs—the boom has been even more pronounced. The number of ADU permits issued in L.A. jumped from 80 in 2016 to 5,064 in 2021—a startling 6,230 percent increase.
-
DroneDeploy agreed to acquire StructionSite, an Oakland, Calif.-based ground reality capture provider for the construction industry. Financial terms were not disclosed.
- Commercial Observer released their list of the 30 Most Powerful People in Commercial Real Estate PropTech. Congrats to MetaProp Partner's Zach Aarons, Aaron Block, and Maureen Waters for the win!
