AVESO - Championing Changing Places

Thank you to all those who attended our Championing Changing Places workshops!

AVESO - Championing Changing Places
Last week we ran our Championing Changing Places days and were delighted to meet all the new campaigners looking to start their journeys. We hope that you now feel armed with tools and tips to begin your campaigning for Changing Places toilets in your local area.
AVESO - Championing Changing Places
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Samantha Buck and Alison Beevers for sharing your empowering stories and strategies. We would also like to thank Mike LeSurf (CP Consortium), Sarah Mitchell (CP Facebook Page Manager) and Martin Jackaman (CP Co-Founder) for all of your contributions.
Finally, we would like to thank Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre and Motorpoint Arena for your support on the day and keeping us well hydrated.

In response to many requests for Championing Changing Places days in other areas we have decided to run a Championing Changing Places Webinar in the new year to make the event accessible for all (we are about inclusion after all!).

Not far to go...

Not far to go...

Thanks to all the fabulous campaigners, there has been a flurry of activity, media and light shed on the necessity of Changing Places. People and businesses are starting to realise how essential these vital facilities are to the disabled community. As a result we are please to inform there are currently 892 Changing Places currently registered. That means we need 8 more to reach 900!

Man City - Changing Places Toilet
Over the last few years we have been working hard to promote and install Changing Places across the UK. Changing Places is a campaign on behalf of people who cannot use standard accessible toilets. This includes people with profound learning disabilities, their carers, as well as other disabled people. They need Changing Places toilets with space and the right equipment- including a full room covering Ceiling Hoist and a height adjustable Changing Bench.

In 2014 Aveso began as a joint venture between OpeMed and Astor Bannerman to became the official Changing Places Sponsor. Since then our installations have been seen in Airports, Stadiums, Tourist Attractions, Leisure Centres and more.

In that time, campaigners have been furiously campaigning for Football Clubs to install Changing Places and have been building pressure and momentum through media and news over the last year. We had great pleasure in installing the first four Changing Places in football clubs for Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Brighton and Hove and now we are happy to announce the registration of Manchester City Etihad Stadium. We are delighted that it is registered and officially open to the public. Well done Man City. It was a pleasure working with you!
