Fall Intensive in Developmental Transformations!

Whether you are a mental health practitioner or simply interested in growing in a new and embodied way, you are invited to take part in the annual Developmental Transformations (DVT) intensive in New York City.

Join drama therapists and Institute for Developmental Transformations faculty members Navah Steiner and Adam Reynolds, assisted by post-graduate trainee Nicole Brucato-Cooley for a 1.5 day workshop exploring the foundations of this unique and innovative drama therapy method. You will experience the multi-layered joy of free play and discover how improvisation can be used safely and effectively as a powerful healing tool.

Developmental Transformations has been used for over 25 years in a variety of settings with a variety of populations. DvT training programs currently exist in New York, San Francisco, Beijing, Montreal, Holland, Belgium, England and Israel.  For more information about DvT, go to our website.

            After September 1st:  $350 ($250 for students)
This course may be used for partial fulfillment of requirements in the alternative track program as well as for CE credits necessary to maintain RDT credentials.

Navah Steiner, MA, RDT/BCT, LCAT is the co-director at the New York Institute for Developmental Transformations. She is a drama therapist and psychotherapist at the School of Visual Arts counseling services, adjunct faculty at the New School and in private practice. Previously, Navah has worked with homeless youth and adults in various settings. 
Adam Reynolds, MFA,RDT/BCT, CASAC, LCSW  is a drama therapist and clinical social worker in NYC. He teaches clinical practice and drama therapy at the Hunter School of Social Work and the New School, and provides drama therapy and clinical supervision in Private Practice as well as several clinical and school-based programs in Queens. He is a PhD candidate in CUNY’s program in social welfare as well as the Training Director of the Institute for Developmental Transformations in NYC. His prior professional experience was focused on providing psychotherapy in acute care settings to children, adolescents, and adults. He’s currently investigating more ways to bring play into his professional bio.
Nicole Brucato-Cooley, RDT, LMFT, RYT  is a licensed marriage and family therapist, registered drama therapist, registered yoga teacher and level II DvT trainee. Currently, she sees individuals and couples in private practice at Off Center. She has provided treatment for individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, home based, school based, after school programs, residential care, and in-patient facilities. She received her master’s degree in counseling psychology with a focus in drama therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. As a DvT practitioner and student, Nicole feels strongly about the theory and method’s ability to foster greater well-being. She wishes to continually learn more through practice and share the work and the play with clients, therapists, and colleagues.
