The Edible Garden Project has added some new members to the farming family. Haydn Thomas is our new Farm Coordinator. Coming from to the farm via the kitchen, Haydn has worked with Lifecycles building raised vegetable gardens for those with low income, created the first community garden in Dawson City and designed the PHS Hastings Urban Farm which teaches and feeds marginalized members of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside Community. Claire McGillivray, is our new Farmer and Market Coordinator. While studying Sustainable Agriculture at UBC, Claire worked with the Sharing Farm in Richmond and the Orchard Garden at UBC. After Graduating, she spent three growing seasons working for the organic UBC Farm. As well, we have two students with us from the summer, Mikaela Kautzky as the Student Farm Hand and Emmalee Biebel as the Education Assistant. We are super excited to have a team with such rich and diverse skills!
