Hi everyone,

Another sunny week has gone by and more flowers keep popping open around the farm! Dahlias, sunflowers, straw flowers, zinnias and gladiolus are all bursting open with colour! Also, as the summer heat picks up its finally that time we've all been waiting for; tomato season! Our green house is popping with a variety of gorgeous heirloom tomato mixes. These paired with the basil growing by its side make for some amazing dishes. Furthermore,
in our back quadrant the Romanesco zucchini plants are pumping out beautiful fruit with big yellow flowers. Meanwhile, a few rows over we are getting a great potato harvest. Come by this week to pick some up while you can!

We are also in need of more dedicated volunteers at the farm! As things pickup for the season, we can use all the help we can get. If you know of anyone who is interested, please let them know that volunteer drop in sessions at Loutet are Tuesdays from 2-4pm and Thursdays from 5-7pm. We are also looking for Market volunteers on Wednesdays from 2-6pm and Saturdays from 10-2pm. If interested, please email admin@ediblegardenproject.com.

Fundraising
This month we are focusing on fundraising for EGP programming! We are excited to announce that Whole Foods has selected us to be part of their 5% Day Community Giving Program. We will have a table set-up and hope to see you there!

You can also DONATE to our project directly!

Summer camps

This summer Loutet Farm will have half-day and full-day summer sessions available for children and youth. Our programming will explore the biodiversity of plants and insects on the farm. We have programs for those interested in crafting with flowers, and plants found on the farm, and programs for those interested in studying the insects responsible for keeping our plants healthy (and those responsible for eating our plants!). Email schools@ediblegardenproject.com to register.

Volunteer with us, come to a potluck, learn at a workshop, or bring your group on a tour. There are lots of ways to get involved!
  • General Farm volunteer drop-ins: Tues, 2-4pm; Thurs, 5-7pm
  • Market volunteering: Wed, 1:30-6pm; Sat, 9:30-2pm
