Mountain of Squash & Straw Bales Now Available!

We've been harvesting new varieties of winter squash - now we've got Red Kuri, Blue Hubbard, Acorn, Delicata, Sugar Pie, Cinderella, Peanut, Spaghetti and Butternut squash!

For the gardeners in the group: we are happy to report we are now selling Straw Bales for mulching your garden over the winter.  Come chat with the farmers about how we use mulch to overwinter our farm crops!

Some of our crops are slowing down and we are dropping them off the harvest list - but we will still have a wide variety of produce and flowers for sale at our markets until the end of October!

Come down and see what is growing at the farm!

Update on Local Honey
Some of you may have heard from us at the market that we will not have any Loutet Honey for sale this season.  We never harvest unless the bees have enough for the winter, and the cold wet weather this June and July meant we did not have any surplus!

We have also heard back from Ric & Sharon that they do not have any extra honey to sell from the Queen Mary bees.

As with farming, beekeeping has its ups and downs from season to season - but we are happy to report that both of our hives are healthy and thriving as we prepare them for the winter months!

Upcoming Workbees:

Join us on the last Wednesday of the month for a Family Friendly Work bee (with activities for children and adults) and help us wrestle with the newest plant invasion (aka weeds).  Bring a plate to share and join us for the potluck at our celebration table afterward!

Mamia is Still Missing!
Our market volunteer Cathy has lost her cat in Lynn Valley.  See her message below, and please keep an eye out!

"Our young female cat Mamia has been missing since July 30th. She went missing from Lynn Valley and Dempsey.  She is very curious and friendly. We miss her dearly.  I can be reached at 604-818-2592."
We are proud to be a Good Food Organization working towards a healthy and fair food system in alliance with Community Food Centres Canada.
See you at the farm soon!
