Letter from the President

It's cliche' to say "time flies," but in this case, I feel it appropriate: In October, Georgia Primary Bank will begin celebrating our tenth year in business.
The Oscar's chose No Country for Old Men for best motion picture in 2007. It seemed that year felt the same for smaller financial institutions, as it was no country for community banks. For those of you with short memories, we were granted our charter and opened in late 2007 just as the Great Recession arrived. Before the dust finally settled, many community banks throughout the country were forced to close.
We rode out the storm, which battered so many community banks, and we emerged stronger-better-from the experience. Those years taught us many lessons, helped build our character and we are prepared for future opportunities.
Today, Georgia Primary Bank is a leading community bank in Buckhead. We are a supporter of local businesses and consumers. We have made tremendous headway in extending our name recognition through involvement in such local community groups as the Chastain Park Conservancy and the Buckhead Business Association.
We are uniquely positioned to expand our reach in Buckhead - and beyond. Our competition is mainly large regional banks that have lost their ability to make clients feel valued. Valuing our customers' Success is the key to our future and we are proud of the team we've assembled to ensure just that.
In closing, I would like to mention while the best motion picture of 2007 was a rather bleak one, the Grammy's chose Beyonc'e's uplifting Irreplaceable as best song.
And you, our customers, friends and colleagues are just that: irreplaceable.
I look forward with great joy and confidence to the future of Georgia Primary Banks. Keep an eye out for fun and exiting announcements in the year as we celebrate our tenth anniversary of serving the community.
We hope you will join us.

Community Involvement

Georgia Primary Bank was a proud sponsor of the Taste of Buckhead, where a portion of the proceeds benefited The Giving Kitchen.  The Giving Kitchen provides emergency assistance grants for Atlanta area restaurant workers facing an unanticipated hardship.

BBA members had a great time Saturday, September 10th volunteering at Open Hand Atlanta! Members drove fresh prepared and packaged meals to people with disabilities or serious illness in the metro Atlanta.  Included is our own David Coxon and his wife Sandy.

Employee Spotlight

Connie Cothran
Senior Vice President and Deposit Operations

It is often said that a strong operations leader is the glue that holds a bank together. Connie Cothran is no exception to this rule. Connie has been with Georgia Primary Bank since August 2014. In addition to her role as Senior Vice President of Deposit Operations, Connie has fulfilled the roles of Treasury Services, Retail Online Banking Support, IT and Security. Connie began her career as a teller before advancing to a branch management position at First Cherokee State Bank. While at First Cherokee State Bank, Connie became an expert on automated clearing house and is certified as an Accredited ACH Professional. Connie has also worked at Atlanta Business Bank, Brookhaven Bank and Georgia Commerce Bank. Connie strongly believes up-to-date-operating systems and highly trained staff are the backbone of a strong client-oriented bank.
Connie said, "If you can't deliver on the operating side, you will lose client trust in a hurry. Once lost, confidence is very difficult to regain."
"Delivering on the client service side has to be a core value of any successful bank. Fortunately we have someone of Connie's caliber who can deliver the excellent service our clients have come to expect," said David Coxon, President and CEO.
Connie lives in Woodstock, and has two children and two grandchildren. When she is not working, Connie enjoys camping with family and riding All Terrain Vehicles.
