Cormac Ó Braonáin - Gone Home
Late on Sunday afternoon we in Scouting Ireland were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Cormac Ó Braonáin in a tragic accident this weekend. Cormac was an active Rover Scout and Scout Leader in the HQ Dublin Dartry scout group where he could be found each week giving his time and enthusiasm to inspire the next generation of Scouts and Scouters.
Cormac ably represented Scouting Ireland at the 2015 World Scout Jamboree in Japan, as well as in numerous Pride parades in Dublin. Those who knew him best knew they could count on him to go above and beyond in anything he put his mind to.
Cormac was a committed friend, a loyal Scout and was guided by his strong values in everything he did.
On behalf of Scouting Ireland, we would like to offer our sincerest condolences to Cormac’s family, his friends and all that were lucky enough to know him.
Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann.
Adrian tennant,
Chair of Scouting Ireland
