Please join the Misery Bay Dulcimers group for a delightful evening concert. This is a unique experience to learn about this amazing instrument and its history, plus an opportunity to try playing the Appalachian Dulcimer yourself. A Daughter's Journey

Lonene Rogers was born deaf in the 1950s and navigated life when persons with disabilities were not fully included in all areas. She married a deaf man and had two children in a tumultuous marriage that ultimately led to her disappearance. Come listen to Alison Morea Duiker, Lonene’s daughter, read parts of her memoir and continue an on-going search for clues and answers to happened to her mother.

Generating Ideas for Your Writing

Don't Be a Darla: How to Set Up a Fish Tank

In case you haven’t heard, the Erie County Public Library can help kick-start your business idea! The library is a proud member of the Beehive Network, which helps new entrepreneurs build the skills to design, finance, and market their products. Visit the Idea Lab’s beginner’s guide on how to start your business, complete with a virtual business basics class, links to community resources, and helpful books recommendations.

Pennsylvania’s Small Business Development Center offers a variety of virtual workshops, trainings, and meetings, many of which are free to attend. Click here to see a list of upcoming training events! Erie’s own Small Business Development Center – located in Gannon University’s Center for Business Ingenuity – is part of the Beehive Network.
With insights on funding streams, site selection, industry trends, and plenty more, Choose Erie is a great place to start building your business plan. While the site is designed primarily for businesses relocating to Erie, it offers a detailed breakdown of Erie’s economic data that will be just as useful for local entrepreneurs.
