Food Security - Composting & Christmas

A video message from Julie (LAV) and Daniel (RDP) in Malawi. Please watch.

Love a Village is currently in Malawi. Recently people have been asking us about how they can give a family member or friend a Christmas gift through Love a Village. Watch this video to learn how and see what we have been up to.

Food Security is one of LAV’s 5 project areas. Malawi has been experiencing a shorter rainy season than usual, resulting in smaller yields of crops, leaving families with lout food from approximately November to the next harvest in April.

Composting is one of the many areas covered in our Food Security programme. Villagers are learning that Composting improves soil quality and yield, and that it removes the need for expensive fertilizers that most can’t afford.

We have observed today, and learned that many people are excited at learning this new technique and are asking when they can receive training.

Help us reach more villagers through the year by contributing to our project area of Food Security that is being implemented by our Malawian implanting partner, Rural Development Partners.

NOTE: Our founder and web designer Julie Seath is currently in Malawi and needs to fix a few points on the website (mobile view) for it to be properly seen. This may or may not happen before her return to Canada.
