NEXT GENERAL MEETING: Tuesday, 23 October 2018 at 4.30 p.m.
All members are invited and encouraged to come and be part of the decision making process of your organisation.
A huge thank you to Laura for the two and a half years of dedication to the cause. MIAC will benefit from your valuable input, support and dedication over these years. We all wish you the very best for your future ventures with Stro and your family.
To our sponsors, Appledore Holdings and Bay Island Early Learning Centre for their recent annual donations. Without our sponsors MIAC would struggle to stay afloat. Their generosity is greatly appreciated.
From Petrae McLean (BI Early Learning Centre) – a big thank you to Robyn Parsons for last years workshop with the littlies.
By The Bay EXHIBITION:
The BTB Exhibition in its present form finishes this Sunday the 14th at 3pm. All work must remain in the gallery until 3pm.
Members’ unsold work can remain in the gallery for the continuing exhibition, or exchanged for new work. New work can be added too. Entry forms for the continuing exhibition must accompany all added work and can be found on the bench at the entrance to the art workshop/meeting room.
All sold work will be wrapped on Monday morning and the purchasers notified. The work that has been in the gallery will be rearranged a little to give it a ‘new’ look.
The raffle will be drawn and the Peoples’ Choice Votes counted on Monday too.
I will require some help on Monday 15th from 9-12 to do all this so any offers will be greatly appreciated.
Please call Meryl on 0437876813 if you have any questions.

Bribie Island Community Art Gallery Members’ visit:
A very friendly, interested group of eleven potters, painters and photographers visited MIAC on Wednesday 3rd and enjoyed a delicious morning tea, preferring to sit outside soaking up the views and the ambiance of a truly beautiful spring day. They were impressed by our hospitality and the whole setup of MIAC and what we have achieved in our small community. They spent some time in the pottery shed chatting with the potters who were working there and were rather surprised at our gallery and the quality of work. Ted [Upton] wowed them with a visit to view some of his sculptures. It was a really successful day enjoyed by us all. We have been invited back to their island so let’s keep that on the agenda!
Here is the email received from Bribie Island Community Art Gallery members’ visit:
“Hi all the beautiful people at MIAC,
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to visit your wonderful Arts Centre and pottery on Wednesday. We were inspired by your gallery, and delighted in your lovely seaside, bush setting. Thank you so much for providing such a delicious and most welcome morning tea.
We also really enjoyed our trip with Ted to the 2 gardens to see his sculptures.
We have been raving about our visit since we got back. We look forward to your visit to our gallery some time in the near future.
Every best wish,
Diane Carr, for all the Bribie visitors”
