Due to the vacancy caused by the resignation of MIAC President, nominations are being called for the position. Nomination forms are available from the complex. Any interested MIAC member, please return completed nomination forms to the Secretary by 4 pm on Friday, 25 May, 2018. A special meeting will then be held on Friday, 6th June at 10 am to elect a new President.
What's On At MIAC Gallery
Continuing Members Exhibition.
Exhibiting artists are encouraged to change over their work to keep the continuing exhibition fresh and vibrant. Collect any works that you want to take out, making sure the gallery team know and record what is being removed. Complete an entry form and leave your new, labelled work to then be hung by the gallery team.
Thursday Print Group
From 10 am to 12 pm. Join Judith Brady and Jan de Rooy to have a dabble in simple print making. Plans are in the works to up the ante and hopefully evolve into a more sophisticated print group in the future, but for the moment we want to start simple.
Kiln under repair.
The large kiln is currently being repaired, but can still be used without the damaged fan and flu. This means that when it’s being fired on some Thursdays and Fridays, the pottery shed will be closed because of the potential toxic gas hazard. As this will not be every Thursday and Fridays all other regular groups will go ahead as usual. We will have a notice on the door on the days you should not enter.
Next firing date tba (see notice boards inside and outside the shed)
David Wells Workshop Survey.
After the successful David Wells watercolour workshop last month, we are conducting a survey to decide what to offer for the next workshop with David. He has offered either another sky/sea scape, portrait or landscape in either pastel, oil or watercolour. Survey form in MIAC workshop, or call the complex on 34094100 Wednesday to Sunday between 10 am and 3 pm to leave your preferences.
New MIAC member, Kevin Symes has kindly offered to look after the gardens and mow the lawns. Huge thank you to Kevin.
Tracy Milchick for taking on In The Loop, Facebook and hopefully even the Web site. Thank you gorgeous Tracy.
Valerie Gruenberg for her kind donation of a dot painted terracotta pot for MIAC fundraising.
Pottery Team members, Pam and Janet for their tireless work. (Jan and Evelyn don’t do too badly either). Thank you lovely ladies – what a great team!
a Special Meeting will be held on 6 June, 2018 at 10 am in the MIAC workshop for the election of a new President.
