January Newsletter 2016
Happy New Year to all of you. May your year be filled with big, mean steelhead, trout rising to dry flies and smallies smashing topwater!

As winter settles in this issue will try to educate you on winter fly fishing, how to dress and where to fish. We have also included a step by step of Rabbit Wiggle Nymph pattern by Ed McCoy.  As well as a link to Russ Maddin's Flash Monkey filmed by Mangled Fly Media.

Winter, especially ones like this, are very under fished. Most anglers put away rod and reels when they reach for rifle or shot gun. No crowds, hungry fish equals great times. Look into it further, you'll be pleasantly surprised.winter fly fishing

Also take a look at our speaking schedule. We always look forward to seeing our angler friends at these events. Please attend these informative presentations.

As we move into our slower months all of us at Hawkins Outfitters will be working hard, continuing to expand and improve the new website. Let us know if you are looking for things to be added to the site.

The Rabbit Wiggle Nymph is a nymph that should be in your fly box especially starting in January and carrying through the first part of April.  Movement is a great trigger for both Steelhead and Trout.  You can fish this pattern dead drift below an Indicator, or swing this fly in riffles or pocket water on a tight line.
