Our 3rd AGM is coming up and we'd love to see you!

We've had a great year, our second on the site. This year it feels like our orchard vision is really starting to materialise. We have a flourishing tropical zone fed by drip irrigation and a diverse bush tucker zone, spurred on by the Kindy planting days. We undertook our first local harvest, picking and pressing olives to produce 40 bottles of WGV olive oil. The bold new addition to the site is of course our beautiful shed, thanks to a Fed Gov Grant, our membership fees and donations and a hardworking team of workers from our Orchard community. Our fundraising team has given us a much-needed buffer to undertake bigger projects this year as well as raising our profile in the community. And finally, in true celebration of community in WGV, we ran our biggest ever Winter Solstice lantern walk from our orchard to Sullivan Hall, building good lasting memories for young and old.

The committee plays a vital role in both completing the vision and keeping the spirit of the organisation strong...and we've had a great committee over the past year. Many are staying on, including our much-valued non-elected members playing important support roles. We encourage you to come along on sunday October 23rd at 1:30pm. It will be a short meeting as our citrus workshop will take place shortly after the close of the AGM. Note that the AGM meeting is not at the orchard but at Annie & Rich's home on Fisher St.
Cheers, Steph Jennings (Convenor)

Memberships will be coming due for many of us from the AGM through the month of November...with exception for those of you who chose the 3-year membership option or those who joined late in the year. We'll be in touch soon if your membership needs renewing. If you would like to become a member and support the orchard financially, we would be very grateful. Membership fees are a critical stream of income for the orchard to grow the orchard and associated infrastructure ...and there is still much to do.
