3-2-1 Decision making project

The 3,2,1 Decision making project is an education and awareness project that works with children, young people, parents/carers and the wider community in Northamptonshire. The project tackles the issues caused by ‘legal highs’ (New psychoactive substances and volatile substances) in our local community. We provide education workshops to schools and community groups, deliver awareness sessions for parents and carers, host community events and work with other local agencies and community groups. Since the project launched in July, we have worked with a number of primary and secondary schools including Kettering Science Academy, Brixworth Primary, East Hunsbury Primary, Guilsborough School, Wollaston School and Weston Favell Academy and many more schools are booked for the new school year. We have delivered awareness sessions  to parents and professionals and are in the process of developing our first community event. If you are interested in a workshop or a parent, professional awareness session, please get in touch on 01536 414690 or email us on info@solveitonline.co.uk.  You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Consultation
In order to shape our service provision we want to find out what people know about so called 'legal highs' and also what their experiences have been. Please take 2 minutes to fill out our survey. It is
anonymous. Please share with your family, friends and colleagues too. You can access the survey via our website or click here to take part. Thanks

Legal or Illegal Highs?

With the government ban on the way, what does it mean for the every day user, seller and support worker? At a recent NPS Conference, Rudi Fortson QC discussed the implications of the new bill, and whether it is ready to be enforced by law enforcement. Sir Fortson QC went on to identify areas in the bill that may need further scrutiny to make it clearer to users and law enforcers, what will be above the law, and what will be illegal. The bill itself has been through the House of Lords last month, and is due to be bought up in the House of Commons shortly. For more information on the bill, click here

National Citizen Service and Solve It

We've been working with the National Citizen Service in Northamptonshire. For the last few weeks we've been supporting the programme by raising awareness about the dangers of volatile and new psychoactive substances. We've also been encouraging the young people to think about what their 'Natural High' is. We have been promoting 'natural highs; and encouraging young people to seek out what naturally makes them feel good so they then feel empowered and have a reason to say no to a chemical high. We are looking forward to working with NCS Northants teams and supporting their social action projects. #NCSNorthants
