Our Golden Gift #2 is the Kashmir Cowl designed by Emily McNeil. We offered this cowl in early July and it sold out quickly. So many customers called to ask if we had more that we decided to offer it this Fall.
This cowl was designed to use one skein of our Kashmir 65 yarn (65% Cashmere and 35% Cultivated Silk. Approximately 50g = 124 yards) and was a show special at Stitches West, Fiber Fusion and Black Sheep Gathering. The price of this yarn has gone up substantially since I purchased it last (over 30%) so the price is a bit higher than last time. This is a great deal on a very high quality yarn and great pattern.
When the kiddo asked if she could dive into my stash to pick out yarn for my next project, I should have anticipated that I was in for a whole lotta pink... but she settled on more of a magenta pink, at least!
This combination of Marine Silk Lace and Mohair Lace is just delightful, and actually makes for a relatively quick knit on larger needles (US 5 for me, US 6 or 7 for most knitters).
We poured through my Ravelry queue and some shawl projects I've made over years and settled on this beautiful Waterlily pattern. I am leaving off the ornate border, but love the clean lines of it this way. And though this will probably be on my needles for the next couple months (it goes quickly, but as usual I am balancing over a dozen projects at one time!), it will be a lovely, cheerfully bright knit in the darker days ahead.
