Our Golden Gift #5
Alaska by Camille Descateaux

For our final Golden Gift, we decided to offer a Christmas version of the Alaska.  This has been a very popular kit since we first offered it last Spring.

This pattern is inspired by northern lights in Alaska.

This cap is knit in the round with our Halo yarnEach yarn is hand-dyed separately and so each kit is a little different.  The first section is simple 2x2 ribbing beginning with red and then switching to green. The chart is excellent and we will include separate instructions for this Christmas version.  The beads for ornaments are included.  This kit is $29.50.

We have added more Awash Cowl kits as almost sold out last week. Kit price is $20.50.

AND, for a great small project bag for a great price (shoot, you can use these sturdy little bags for most anything!) check out our
Christmas collection of Itsy Bitsy bags  Each bag is $11.00.

Not Exactly On My Needles
with Janet Schlaifer

We have been so delighted with our little Parklette. A wonderful spot to sit outside, knitting or crocheting, meeting friends, needles clicking, laughter and friendly hellos to people passing by. But, something was missing.  Our shop motto “Lets get Creative” was echoing on the blank railings. Hmmm, how can we fix this? YARN!  The ideas started coming and a solution was soon at hand.  We started wrapping the rails.

You may well notice all the different personalities wrapping our lovely Parklette with fall colors.  Lori loves order and color; Fran is precise and wants to use every bit of each skein; Janet wants to see “what happens if I...?”  Friends have joined in: B. in one corner (who says we are "Chicks who love string"), Chelsea in another. It is a pure joy to set down my needles and wrap life and color into our outside space. I think Commercial Avenue is starting to sparkle!

Now, about the trees….

Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund Knitting Opportunity

We are delighted to be participating again this year in the annual Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund.

Over the next weeks, we will be collecting knitted and crocheted hats for infants through adults to include in holiday gift baskets for low-income families.  Be sure to choose washable yarns for your projects.
Please join us in bringing a little warmth and made-with-love cheer to children of all ages this holiday season.  Be sure to drop off your hats at the shop by December 8th for final pick-up.  We have already collected two large bags of hats-what a generous community!  Thank you!
Please join our Fidalgo Artisan Yarn Lovers group and post the photos of your projects using our yarns or patterns.
It makes a difference!

We appreciate your support and showing us your beautiful projects.
