Our Golden Gift #3
North Isle Gansey Cap designed by Fran Jepperson.

The North Isle Gansey Cap, knit with an Aran weight merino wool, is perfect winter-wonderland attire -- you can practically smell crisp pine needles and air redolent with snow!

This kit includes one skein of our Merino 840, a fine, soft and warm superwash merino wool and the pattern, of course.

On My Needles
with Fran Jepperson

It has been 10 years since I first fell in love with the Eleanor Cowl by Audrey Knight.  Such a pretty design and a chance to tackle a lace project with enough challenge to exercise the brain cells, but small enough to finish quickly for special gifts.

I’ve knit it a couple of times, once with a variegated yarn.  That was when I learned, hopefully for the last time, that lace patterns disappear in variegated yarns! It fits snuggly around the neck, thus almost begs to be knit with a soft, beautiful yarn such our Cashmere Cloud (65% Cashmere | 35% Cultivated Silk.  50g=221 yards)  Even better, a 50 gram skein is just the right amount of yarn so on my needles it went!  The cowl starts with a really pretty ridged shape and I’ve always wondered what it would look like with if those ridges were beaded.  I just have a few more rows to go and the beads are perfect.

I’m so happy with the look, the feel and can’t wait to try it on!  It will be displayed in the shop soon if you would like to see it yourself.
Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund Knitting Opportunity

We are delighted to be participating again this year in the annual Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund.

Over the next weeks, we will be collecting knitted and crocheted hats for infants through adults to include in holiday gift baskets for low-income families.  Be sure to choose washable yarns for your projects.
Please join us in bringing a little warmth and made-with-love cheer to children of all ages this holiday season.  Be sure to drop off your hats at the shop by December 8th for final pick-up.  Thank you!
Please join our Fidalgo Artisan Yarn Lovers group and post the photos of your projects using our yarns or patterns.
It makes a difference!

We appreciate your support and showing us your beautiful projects.
