And be sure to visit Fidalgo Artisan Yarn & Clothing for more upcoming classes and your FAYC yarn needs!
Basic Brioche Hat with Fran Jepperson. Join us for this fun carnivalesque hat class — perfect for learning the ins and outs of basic brioche colorwork!

Suggested yarn is our Merino DK in two colors, 50g each. Needles are US7 16" and dpns, or to obtain gauge.

Class fee is $25.
Everyday Fancy with Fran Jepperson. Join us in learning the simple lace elements that make up this beautiful summer poncho.  When the weather begins to warm but you still want a little cover to throw over your top, Everyday Fancy is just right. Or put it over your favorite summer dress and you are ready for an evening out.

Materials are 4 skeins Leonie Linen or Louet Euroflax and 32″ circular US7 (or to obtain gauge). Homework before class is to knit a gauge swatch — check with us for details.

This is a 2-session class and will meet Saturday, March 9th and Saturday, April 13th, 10:30am-12:30pm.

Class fee is $50.
Lacy Mobius Cowl with Fran Jepperson. Have you been wanting to knit a mobius but haven’t been sure about the logistics of it? Cat Bordhi invented an ingenious cast on that allows for a true mobius, not just a cowl with a twist in it. Join us for learning this brilliant technique, and about half-way through the piece you will have one of those “a-ha!” moments.

Suggested yarn is 1 skein of Winter Silk, and needles are 47″ circular US6. This is a 1-session class and will meet Saturday, March 16th, 1:30-3:30pm.

Class fee is $25.

North Islands Gansey Poncho with Fran Jepperson. Ganseys, or Guernseys, are the traditional hand-knitted pullovers worn by the fishermen of the British Isles. The patterns themselves are easy enough to knit, but the complexity comes from the richness and detail of the various stitch combinations.

This class offers the opportunity to create a beautiful poncho using these timeless stitch patterns. This is a lot of knitting, so join us now and have a cozy, elegant garment come the cooler autumn and winter months.

Materials are 7 skeins of Merino 840 and 32″ circular US5 needles (or to obtain gauge).

This is a 2-session class and will meet Saturday, March 23rd and Saturday, April 27th, 10:30am-12:30pm.

Class fee is $50.

Beyond Beginning Beading with Emily McNeil. One of the joys of bead knitting is determining where and how to place beads even when a pattern doesn’t necessarily call for them — because who doesn’t love a little extra sparkle now and again?

Join us for a fun class in taking your beading to the next level and learn the (not so intricate!) intricacies of placing beads on ssks, k2togs, and more. We will mostly be working on a swatch, but will discuss different lace patterns that lend themselves to beading.

Required materials are 1 skein of our newest yarn, Halo, US 6 needles, a .75mm crochet hook, and 6/0 beads.

This is a 1-session class and will meet Thursday, March 28th, 5:30-7:30pm.

Class fee is $25.

To register for classes, please stop by, call or email Fidalgo Artisan Yarn & Clothing.  (See information below). Classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis, so please register early.
Fees are due at the time of registration and are non refundable unless the class is cancelled.
