Take a Closer Look
Visions Northwest is proud to announce the launch of our newly designed website. Visit www.visionsnorthwest.org for an opportunity to get to know us better and who we are as an organization. The new website is a foundation to build upon as Visions Northwest continues to support economic development throughout the Northwest Region of Wisconsin. You'll find the site is divided into five main sections: Home, About, Initiatives, Buildings and Sites and Economic Reports. We hope you find it easy to navigate our site and locate information. The Buildings and Sites portion of the website serves as a regionally specific, interactive map to search buildings, sites and businesses for sale. These are listed by brokers, realtors, municipalities and economic development professionals. View our Economic Reports section for up-to-date overviews of the economy for each specific county located within the Visions Northwest footprint or the region as a whole. Website feedback and suggestions are welcome and can be emailed to Crystal Rohde, Visions Northwest Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Visions Northwest Receives Capacity Building Grant Award
Visions Northwest was awarded a Capacity Building Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to contract with Northwest Regional Planning Commission to complete an inventory and evaluation of existing natural gas, sewer and water, and broadband in Northwest Wisconsin. Through GIS data development, the creation of an internet-based map server will accompany the study to allow economic development officials, business owners, and communities to visually see capacities and service areas. This will be a powerful tool in assisting the ten counties and five tribes in identifying and addressing the lack of capacity or availability of this infrastructure, recognizing these issues can limit or restrict business development, expansion and attraction for communities. Work on this project is expected to begin soon with the evaluation and map server available to stakeholders early in 2017.
