THE AUGUST NAVIGATOR
Hi everyone,

Welcome to our August edition of The Navigator.

It's a quiet month for us, as there are no events scheduled until early September, but we are working hard behind the scenes to plan out new routes and challenges for you, as we head into Autumn and Winter.

RECENT EVENTS UPDATE

NIGHT & DAY - 16/17 July

Our biggest challenge of the year, and certainly not for the faint hearted, took place last month in absolutely perfect conditions.  With the moon shining brightly on a warm night, 20 Adventurers lined up to take on an action packed 12 hours of navigating around 65 Checkpoints, located all around the Surrey Hills. A super blog write up by OS Champion Mary-Ann Ochota can be read here. Event report, read more...

Holmbury St Mary Adventure Race - 24 July

Just one week after the Night & Day Challenge, we held our Holmbury St Mary event. A super day for racing in a stunning location, it was great to see some first timers to Tri-Adventure, as well as some of the Night & Day adventurers, who'd made a pretty impressive recovery.  We're also really encouraged to see more youngsters coming along and taking part with their parents.  They sure do love getting out there.  (read more..).
Navigation Skills Training
Improve your Navigation skills and start collecting even more Check Points by attending one of my one day Navigation Courses.  I usually run them the day before a Tri-Adventure event, and the next planned course is on 17 September in the North Downs near Shere. I am also happy to run these for groups of 1-8, on a day to suit you, so just email me if you are interested.  CONTACT US.

And finally ...

Some of you will have seen me using a drone to do some aerial filming from time to time.  That's something else I do - I have an aerial filming and photography business, and I am fully qualified to operate commercially, with CAA approval and full insurance cover.

You can see my work and the vast range of applications that are suitable for drones on our website www.oneguy.co.uk.  Our work is of stunning quality, and costs a fraction of what a helicopter shoot would cost.

Well, that's it for this month.  I look forward to seeing you at the Hurtleberry and at Shere in September.

Meanwhile, I'm off to Slovenia for a week, to catch up with old friends, and to bag a mountain or two, as mountains are another one of my big passions!

Yours in Adventuring
