Tri-Adventure December Newsletter
Christmas is just around the corner, the days are quite short, and yet the temperatures continue to amaze us. We kicked off the Winter Series last Sunday with a warm day in Surrey!
Here at Tri-Adventure, our programme is in full swing. Our first Event back from hibernation was on 31 May at Effingham. Since then, we’ve held an Event every month (except August), as well as three different Charity events.
We returned to a muddy Peaslake on a nice day on 13 December with a wide range of abilities and ages taking part. That’s what is so good about Adventure Racing. The format provides challenge to both the first timer and the elite athlete. This time, we had our youngest participant yet, six year old Harvey Humphrey, who took part in the Sprint with his Dad.
At the other end of the scale, Rob Smart bagged all but three of the Checkpoints in the 4 hour Experience, and Ian Helm almost got the full set of 20 CPs in the 2 hour Trail. Full results from Peaslake can be found here.
Congratulations to the Event Winners.

Our Winter Series continues in the New Year with a return to Effingham on 10 January - information and enter here. The Series will conclude in Shere on 21 February, enter here.
We try to keep costs down for you as much as possible, and the Early Bird prices offer very attractive Entry Fees. Also, don’t forget that we have the Tri-Point scheme for further savings.
We have now confirmed the dates for our Events up to February 2017 on our events page.
In response to several enquiries about an Endurance Event in the Summer, I am pleased to confirm that we’ll be holding a Night & Day 12 Hour Event on Saturday/Sunday 16-17 July 2016. Precise location, entry fees, and start times still need to be confirmed. The Event, which is for Pairs only, will take place in the Surrey Hills.
We support a couple of Charity Events as well, and we will deliver the Whiteley Village Races (5 June) and The Hurtleberry Trail and Duathlon (October 2016). These are signed events, and this year we enjoyed superb weather on both days. We also raised some funds for the two Charities, and we’re hoping to do even better next year.
Contact us to arrange a day at one of our Navigation Academies. Focusing on Navigation and map work for Adventure Racing, we look to run these on a Saturday before an event so that you can put the new found skills into action the next day. If you are keen, we have a course running on 27th December near Peaslake.
Triathlon Shows – London
As part of our drive to recruit new AR participants, we will be exhibiting at the London Triathlon Show at London Excel (11-14 February 2016), and at the National Triathlon Show at the Lee Valley Velodrome (9-10 April). We’d be delighted to see you there. We’re going to have some exciting prizes to give away!
It just remains for me to wish you all a very Happy Adventure Packed Christmas, and may 2016 see you feeding you sense of Adventure at our events.
Yours in Adventure,
