Tri-Adventure January Newsletter
Winter Series –
Our second event in the Series took place at Effingham on 10 January. A very pleasant day and a pretty challenging muddy course! This was the location where Tri-Adventure made its return last May, and we had another really good event, with a great turn out.
There were lots of stories and experiences during the day, and I particularly liked the one where one of the participants on their mud covered mountain bike was overtaken by a walker out on a ramble!
Congratulations to the Event Winners.

Spring Series –
We’ve now almost finalised the venues for the next Series, and these will be posted on the website in about a week’s time. DON’T FORGET – SPRING SERIES IS TAKING PLACE ON A SATURDAY (not Sunday). We’re trying this out as a result of feedback from quite a number of Tri-Adventurers, so do come and help us make this experiment work.
Night & Day
In response to several enquiries about an Endurance Event in the Summer, I am pleased to confirm that we’ll be holding a Night & Day 12 Hour Event on Saturday/Sunday 16-17 July 2016. Precise location details to be confirmed, but we are keeping the entry fee to the same as 2013 and starting at 10pm on the Saturday. This Navigation based Event is for Pairs only. There is a facebook page to help find people to race with. The event will take place in the Surrey Hills. Entries are now open here:
(Night and Day)
The London Triathlon Show
This is taking place at London Excel on 11-14 February. We’ve got a Stand (LT524) at the Show, so come over and find us. We’ve got a mini navigation competition, and some giveaways. There will also be my drones on display that I use for www.oneguy.co.uk, great for capturing footage from the air.
Anyone travelling abroad and need to hire a Bike Box?
I’ve got a high quality BikeBoxAlan that I’m happy to hire out. Rates are £10 a day or £50 a week. Just get in touch if you want to hire it.
London 2 Capetown Progress
Emily and James are now in Uganda and well over half way on their journey to Capetown.
Last July, I organised a Bike Challenge – London to Brighton – as a launch pad for this major Charity event: Emily and James set off on 12 July to cycle to Cape Town with the aim of raising funds for World Bicycle Relief. Check their progress on London 2 Capetown Tracker. Catch up on their blog here.
All the best,
Yours in Adventuring,
