CALLING ALL TEACHERS, STUDENTS, ARTISTS, AND YOUTH ALLIES!

Join us at VA's State Capitol to speak up for incarcerated youth!

Monday, February 15th: 9AM
Virginia Capitol House Room 3 (1000 Bank Street, Richmond, VA)

Youth, young adults, and youth advocates are joining together to tell Virginia legislators to support bills and budget items that support community-based prevention and intervention programs that will make kids, schools, and communities safer.  RSVP here!

WHY DO WE ACT? WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?
  • Because VA sends more students to law enforcement than any  other state in the country...
  • Because more than 9,500 youth were locked up in Virginia in 2015...
  • Because 40% of incarcerated youth were between 8 and 14 years old...
  • Because 78.3% of incarcerated youth are rearrested after three years...
  • Because we spend 12 times more to incarcerated our youth than we do to educate them!
Let's say it together... #PRISONSDONTWORK!!!
