In light of the recent global crisis, millions have been displaced from their homes in Syria and forced to live in refugee camps. Many Toronto and Malvern residents have been supporting Syrian families through refugee sponsorship channels but there are other ways to help as well. Recommended food items to donate include rice, lentils, canned vegetables, baby formula, cooking oil, tea bags, pasta, dry milk, cereal, flour, sugar, cookies. In addition, winter items are also being collected to help them through the harsh winter months, these include coats, sweaters, socks, sleeping bags. Your agency can also be a collection point for these supplies. To arrange that, please contact Firaaz Azeez at 416.754.8116.
