Generate review - invitation to respond

Responses required by Wed 1 Sep

We would like everyone in the church to have the opportunity to feed into the Generate Presbytery Review currently underway at Coro. (If you're unsure what this is all about, refer the 'Background' section below for what we have communicated about this in earlier editions of our e-news).

Steph Tai (leading the review team) has also written re. this below:

A couple of months ago we were asked by the Elders at Coro to have some conversations, offer some feedback and suggestions that will help them plan for the future. We know that God has, and is, doing good things at Coro and we want to consider what He might be saying now in order to continue to reach people with the Gospel in this next season.

We have had a number of conversations already, and now we would really love to hear from you. We are asking a small number of people, from a cross section of the congregation, to share their thoughts, impressions, struggles and hopes. This along with the other conversations will help us to clarify the feedback and support your Eldership and Staff as they plan for the future.

Your feedback is important. It will only take about 5-10 minutes to complete, just click the link below.

Thank you for taking the time to share your reflections with us.

Blessings, Steph Tai
On behalf of the Coro Review Team

As you can see, the Generate team has asked us to identify a variety of people across the life of our church to complete this survey (Coro Review Feedback) they have designed and we have done this.

As a staff team, we have also decided that we would like to give everyone the chance to respond and would invite you to consider setting aside some time prior to Wed 1 Sep to complete this survey.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of the staff team.

Background:

Each Uniting Church is part of a Presbytery (essentially a body with pastoral oversight of the churches in its care). As you may well know, our church is a part of Generate Presbytery (see their website and FB page for more info) who we have invited to work with our leadership to conduct a review of our church as per the below explanation included in prior editions of our weekly e-news:

Simon recently explained that the eldership was inviting Generate Presbytery to conduct a review into our ministry and staffing. This is not because we are in a difficult space so much as we believe that God is calling the church into something new and we want to ensure that we are best positioned to move our church forward into the future that He has for us.

Here is the letter that the Church Council has written - we encourage you to read it and to chat with Simon or the elders if you have any questions.

(NB. The letter references an 'executive pastor'. See here for some ideas on what this role might involve).

CoroUniting church

For all mainly music families - see our web/app event for full details.

We would love some help as we serve our local community by:
  1. supervising activities (just being an extra adult presence)
  2. helping in the kitchen (serving food / washing dishes)
  3. setting back chairs in the church afterwards (from 6.30pm)
Please email the team (or call/text David on 0438 500 375) if you can help. Thank you!
