Midsummer Movies
Over the course of three days 8-10 August, we ran nine movie screenings in Queen's Gardens attracting up to 1,000 people per movie.
We were happy to see so many people turn up and stay for the movie despite heavy rain on the Friday and gusts of wind on the Saturday, and were very happy that so many businesses were able to take up the offer of free advertising on the screen, something we’d like to repeat in the future. We've had some great feedback from those who joined us, including some helpful feedback from local businesses.

During this free moving screening, people were able to hire deckchairs with the money going to Bromley Community Fund and we can proudly say that this raised £1,385 for the charity.

If you would like to get involved in any of our future events, please contact us.

Operation Gemini
Additional police officers, funded by Your Bromley during peak periods are operating during the summer holidays.  During the first three weeks, they have recovered £4,359.00 of stock and returned it to businesses.  Primark, M&S, TK Maxx, Boots, Sainsbury’s, Debenhams, WH Smiths have all benefited.  The officers carry and respond to Shop Safe radio; the exercise continues to the end of August.  “If businesses can do only one thing to reduce theft for their store, I’d recommend getting a Shop Safe radio”, says Darren Springer of Mr Simms Bromley.  “I’m happy to chat with any business considering getting one”.

Bromley Businesses Against Crime
Funded and managed by Your Bromley, these meetings provide an opportunity for businesses to protect their business against crime and to share ideas with each other, the police, council and CCTV Manager.

The Licensing Partnership meeting to be held at O’Neill’s, East St, 15.00 to 16.30hrs on 17 September, is for all businesses with a licence to sell alcohol or hot food late at night.  All Designated Premises Licence holders and/or their deputies are invited to meet with the Licensing Authorities and to discuss ways to make the town safer and learn about proactive measures you can take. Please RSVP here

The next Retailers’ Security meeting will be held at 9.55 am sharp till 11.00hrs on 25 September at Bromley Police Station, Mason’s Hill. We’ll be sharing reports of incidents and images to look out for, acknowledging the employee and business who has made the most difference to crime prevention over the latest two months and considering cases for exclusion.  Currently, three people have been excluded, with a fourth to follow when the letter has been served on him.  For details of who they are you’d need to log into DISC, the secure platform for businesses to share incident reports.  All businesses are welcome to join DISC, so if you would like to join please email us your details here.  Please RSVP here.

Networking Lunch
The sixth  in a series of networking lunches, part sponsored by Your Bromley for levy payers and organised the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) at Churchill Theatre restaurant, High St

Your Bromley BID members have a £5 discount reducing the charge, which includes a 3-course meal, to £15 per head

This month's guest speaker is Paul McCartney on “how business owners can create a business that runs itself ... even when they're not there!”  Most business owners, rightly or wrongly, don't believe others can do things in the way they do them. This can be overcome with the introduction of checklists and processes that ensure things are done in a certain way”.  .  If you’re interested in doing business with other local businesses, particularly micro-businesses, this networking lunch is for you; that’s why Your Bromley subsidises the charge for levy payers.  Almost all attendees have a chance to speak and everyone has the opportunity to connect with potential clients.

Date: Friday 20 September, 12:00 – 14:30hrs

Levy payers who are interested in being a guest speaker at a future event, or if there’s a topic you are particularly interested in, please contact the team at Your Bromley with your preferred topic.
